MONDIACULT 2025
MONDIACULT is the world’s biggest cultural policy conference. The 2025 edition brought together thousands of participants to set the global agenda for culture in the years ahead. Our inclusive discussions revolved around 6 themes and 2 focus areas, representing key challenges and opportunities for the future of culture.
MONDIACULT is also a major advocacy platform. With the conclusion of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda in sight, the 2025 UNESCO Conference was a decisive moment to build a consensus and momentum to establish culture as a ‘stand-alone’ goal within the next United Nations development strategy.
Cultural rights must be guaranteed for all – and upheld by all. This is why UNESCO ensured the presence of a wide array of participants, from policymakers, the civil society, artists to young people at MONDIACULT 2025.

[OLD FOR ARCHIVE] Civil Society Forum: Civic Agora and MONDIACULT 2025, 26 September to 1 October 2025, Barcelona
To collectively reflect on the role of culture in building contemporary societies and to contribute to the debates of MONDIACULT 2025, the Ministry of Culture (through its Culture and Citizenship programme) and the Catalan institutions (Government of Catalonia, Barcelona City Council, and the Provincial Council of Barcelona) have agreed to jointly promote this event, which aims to focus primarily on the following themes: a) cultural rights, b) the use of AI in culture, and c) culture and peace. Other topics will also be addressed, such as cultural and linguistic diversity; cities and a goal for culture in global agendas; cultural ecosystems; and cultural policies and governance models, among others. The event is connected to the 11th edition of the Culture and Citizenship Forum in Spain.
Attendance to all activities will be free of charge, subject to prior registration, which will be organized by day through the Civic Agora website (deadline for registration: 15 September 2025). The programme will also be available at culturayciudadania.cultura.gob.es and on social media:
