I’m a web developer with strong interests in self-empowering users, and providing them (and those that support them in being self-empowered) the tools they need to succeed, whatever success may be to them.

Having done development, in some form or fashion, professionally or personally, since the late (19)90’s, and have always enjoyed publishing what I do for others to learn from, or improve on, even before I had heard of open source.

WordPress Origin Story

After having created a few basic CMS solutions from scratch on various client projects, I wanted something properly maintained with frequent updates both for features and security patches. It didn’t take me long to discover that WordPress was exactly what I needed for this, having been quietly observing for a year or two because it had me interested but I never truly felt the drag, I finally got my feet wet.

Guess what, the water was lovely, and I dove head first in! And now, many years later there’s still no regret. I spend my free time helping out in the ways I can to give back to a community I truly cherish. I provide support on the IRC channel, give input in various team meetings (anyone can join in and voice their opinions, it’s great, you should too!), and recently ever had my first props in a core update! (Even though my contribution wasn’t major, it’s still a good feeling to be recognized, and it does get you even more excited to help out even more!)
