This Valentine’s season ccMixter invites you to channel that “love” energy into sound with Show Some Love, a Secret Mixter devoted to kindness, decency, creativity, and connection.

It might be time now, more than ever, to do something radical. In a world that often feels loud, divided, and upside down, it might be time to “show some f*ck!ng love!”

As Maya Angelou reminds us, love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls, and arrives at its destination full of hope. Sometimes love is tender. Sometimes it’s defiant. Sometimes it’s awkward, funny, messy, or even a little stinky (“Love Stinks” — we see you, J. Geils Band). But it’s always human. That’s why so many songs are written about it.

For those new to the ritual: a Secret Mixter is a remix exchange where human participants sign up to remix each other — in secret. You’ll receive an assignment, dive into someone else’s work, and create a remix as a gift. No credit chasing. No algorithms. Just music made with intention, surprise, and care. The identities stay hidden until upload day, when the love is finally revealed.

This event isn’t about commercial Valentine’s Day gloss. This is about love that says: I see you. I hear you. I’m glad you’re here. Love isn’t just about romance. It’s about decency with a drum machine, kindness with a pedalboard, creativity with a turntable. It’s about remixing someone else and trusting that the exchange matters.

We know that money can’t buy love — but music can carry it.
