Love Train, Shack, Shadow and Ruby

Once again, we find ourselves assigned mwic and in my Tahoe recording lofi banter using a smartphone.

Music content is built upon mwic drums and mwic drums, percussion and bass in the intro and sax sections. The group vocals are stacks of spoken words. A 5 bar mwic vocal from Power Struggle starts Section 1.

Section 1

5 bars of mwic’s Power Struggle vocal.

Music is built upon a 1 bar drum loop cut from mwic’s Power Struggle.

Group vocals are created by cutting, pasting and stacking words. Love train: Robert Warrington and electronico; Get on board: Robert Warrington, electronico, ElRon and East West Backup Singers plugin.

Section 2

Music and group vocals are the same as Section 1 with ElRon asking Ruby to stay with him.

Section 3 – For the love of sax

Alto sax provided by stefsax. Shut Your Wah Wah Mouth vocoder riff provided by ElRon.

Bass and drums consist of 3 layers: The Other Judge audio bass, percussion and drums stems (8 bars loops); MIDI bass, snare and kick extracted from The Other Judge MIDI file; and a single bar audio Power Struggle drum loop. MIDI tracks are input to IK Multimedia MODO BASS 2 and MODO DRUMS plugins.

Outro

Same as Section 2 with the addition of Dave Merrick’s site promo (no longer published on ccmixter) and Debbizo speaking Love and Shack within the group vocal stack.
