Inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Mesopotamia and the distinctive architectural character of Mardin, Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Mardin stands as one of the region’s prominent five-star hospitality projects. Also known as the “Sun of Mesopotamia,” the hotel reflects the historical and geographical identity of its surroundings through a contemporary hospitality experience.

Operated by Çağakan Turizm, the architectural design of the hotel was developed by Linea Tusavul Architecture. Drawing inspiration from Mardin’s traditional architecture and regional character, the project combines local architectural references with the comfort and functionality expected from a contemporary five-star hotel.

To preserve this strong architectural identity after dark, SOON Light & Project was selected to provide the lighting products and control systems throughout the project. The lighting concept was developed with respect for the building’s original architectural language, ensuring that the visual character experienced during the day continues seamlessly into the night.

For the exterior spaces, SOON Jedi, Wallwasher and PAR Series fixtures, together with dedicated pool lighting solutions, were used to illuminate the façade, landscape, and water features. Through carefully controlled illumination, the architectural details and distinctive massing of the building were emphasized, creating a powerful and elegant night-time presence.

Inside the hotel, custom-designed lighting fixtures, reading lights, concealed lighting, wall sconces, and chandeliers were selected and developed according to the architectural and functional requirements of the different spaces. These solutions create a warm and sophisticated atmosphere while establishing a refined balance between the hotel’s regional character and contemporary comfort.

Beyond the lighting products themselves, SOON Light & Project also integrated the lighting control systems, enabling the interior and exterior lighting environments to operate as part of a comprehensive and cohesive solution.

The Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Mardin project represents an important example of SOON Light & Project’s hospitality expertise, bringing together architectural lighting, bespoke product development, decorative fixtures, façade illumination, and intelligent control technologies within a single project.

Here, light goes beyond simply illuminating the architecture—it becomes a design element that carries the distinctive spirit of Mardin and the architectural identity of the hotel from day into night.
