Clinical Department Rotations in the Medical Doctor Professional Education Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, UNISSULA, are structured clinical learning processes conducted at the main teaching hospital and affiliated clinical training sites. Students undertake clinical clerkships across various medical departments to integrate medical knowledge, clinical skills, communication, professionalism, and clinical decision-making in the comprehensive management of patients. During each rotation, students receive guidance and supervision from clinical educators and participate in patient care according to their level of competence and scope of responsibility, while prioritizing patient safety, medical ethics, and Islamic values.
Learning outcomes in each clinical rotation are assessed through academic activities, clinical performance, case reports, portfolios or logbooks, professional conduct, and examinations determined by each department. The evaluation results are used to ensure that students have achieved the required competencies before progressing to the next stage of their professional education.
Through these clinical rotations, students are expected to develop into competent, ethical, professional, and adaptive future physicians who are capable of providing high-quality healthcare services that respond to the needs of individuals and the community.
